The Instabike costs
What are the exact costs for an Instabike?
An Instabike subscription costs €16,50/month for the transport bike, and €18,95 for the city bike. That’s it. For that amount, you get a good quality bike, free repairs by our excellent team, and the flexibility to cancel your Instabike subscription whenever you like. The subscriptions are all-inclusive. No service costs, no start-up costs, no repair costs.
I still have my own bicycle. Can I exchange it?
Yes, you can. Bring your bike along when you come to pick up your Instabike and we’ll estimate its value. If you decide to leave your old bike with us, we’ll offer you its value in Instabike-terms in return. It makes all the difference.
Everything about subscriptions
What kind of bike will I get?
When you get an Instabike subscription, you can choose between two types of bicycles: the sturdy transport bike and the more luxurious city bike. So this means you no longer need your own bike, because you get one from us. And as long as you keep your subscription, this bike really is yours. In other words: you don’t have to share the Instabike with other people.
When can I cancel my subscription?
The minimum lease period is 3 months. When this period is over, you can cancel your Instabike subscription every month.
How can I cancel my subscription?
Just send us an email through our contact form, which you can find on the contact page, with “cancellation” as the subject line.
Picking up your Instabike
Where is Instabike located?
For the moment, Instabike is only located in Amsterdam and Hilversum. Other cities will follow soon. Our current location in Amsterdam is Rokin 105a. In Hilversum we will service you on-site.
In Amsterdam, Instabike works together with bicycle rental company A-Bike. This means the delivery and repairs happen at the store of A-Bike. In Hilversum we will service you on-site.
When can I pick up my Instabike?
Once your order is complete, Instabike will contact you as soon as possible. The email you’ll receive will contain all the information about options for picking up your Instabike. As soon as we receive your answer, we will confirm one more time, and you will be able to pick up your Instabike on the selected date at the selected time. In Hilversum your bike will be delivered on-site.
About the use of your Instabike
Can I take my Instabike everywhere?
Of course! Whether you cycle to a different city, or even to a different province, it doesn’t matter to us. Just take into account the fact that you have to bring the bicycle to Amsterdam or Hilversum yourself in the event that you need to get it repaired.
Whoops, something broke!
What do I do when my Instabike breaks?
If your Instabike breaks, contact us to make an appointment. Then bring your bike in to one of our two stores in Amstetrdam. In Hilversum we will service you on-site.. We’ll repair it within 8 hours, so you’ll be on your way in no time. Is the damage too severe to fix within 8 hours? Then we’ll give you a replacement bike in the meantime. The repair costs are already included in your subscription fee. Read more about this in our Terms and Conditions.
What are the costs if my Instabike breaks?
The costs for repairs are included in the subscription fee. So you won’t pay any extra fees. Read more about this in our Terms and Conditions.
Did your bike get stolen, or did you lose your keys? What now?
What should I do if I lose my Instabike key?
If you lose your Instabike key, then you can request a new key. This costs €15.
And what if my Instabike gets stolen?
In order to prevent your Instabike from getting stolen, always lock it with two locks. And what if it still gets stolen? Then you’ll pay a €40 deductible excess. And if you didn’t double lock your bike, then another €60 will be added to this fee. Read more about our rules regarding theft in our Terms and Conditions.
